A group bike ride to San Lorenzo Valley Elementary. Grown-ups ride, kids ride along.

How to join
- Create a free Love to Ride Santa Cruz account.
- Join the SLE Bike Bus group on Love to Ride.
- Show up at Cooper St & Farmer St by 8:00am with your kids and your bike.
- Log your bike bus rides on Love to Ride for Biketober.

- Cross the Fall Creek pedestrian bridge
- Hwy 9 shoulder from Fall Creek Dr to SLV High School
- Through the SLV High parking lot
- Arrive at SLV Elementary 8:10–8:15am
Hwy 9 construction is ongoing near SLE, so the route may change. If it does, the notice at the top of this page will say so.
Ride ready
Who can ride
Adults ride. Kids ride as passengers on cargo bikes or in trailers pulled by bikes. Each adult brings their own kids.

All set. See you at Cooper St & Farmer St!
On the ride
- Arrive a few minutes early so the bus can leave on time.
- Ride single file on the Hwy 9 shoulder and stay behind the lead rider.
- Call out hazards to riders behind you: "car back," "slowing," "stopping."
- Slow down and yield to people walking on the Fall Creek bridge and in the high school lot.
- Run your headlights even during daylight.
FAQ
What if I'm running late?
The bus leaves at 8:00am so everyone gets to school before the bell.
Can I join partway along the route?
Not right now. Everyone starts at Cooper St & Farmer St.
What happens if it rains?
We ride rain or shine. Light rain is part of the adventure: bring rain gear for you and a cover or poncho for the kids.
We cancel when riding isn't safe: heavy rain, strong wind, lightning, wildfire smoke, or road trouble like flooding or trees down on Hwy 9. If we cancel, a notice goes up at the top of this page by 7:30am. No notice means we're riding.
And it's always your call to skip a day.
Does it cost anything?
No. It's a free activity organized by parents.
Does it run after October?
If there's enough interest, we'd love to run it all school year!
Do I have to ride every day?
No. Join when it works for you.
